Part 2: Study. Sip. Repeat: Bristol Edition

Bristol City Cafe Recommendation for study week📚✨

Assessment season is officially here! and with it comes long study sessions, tight deadlines, and the need for a reliable go-to spot.

If you’ve already tried some of the cafés from our previous guide, here are more Bristol study spots to add to your list. Whether you’re after a calm atmosphere or a productive buzz, these places are here to help you power through.

Arnolfini Cafe - Harbourside

Hours: Sunday to Wednesday: 9am - 6pm/Thursday to Saturday: 9am - 7pm

Located inside a contemporary arts centre, this café offers a unique mix of creative energy and quiet study space. There’s even a dedicated area where you can sit for long sessions, making it perfect for exam prep days. The relaxed, artsy vibe helps break the monotony of revision. The menu includes not only coffee and sweet bakes, but also a range of savoury options.

As the café is right by the harbour, it is perfect for a post study walk or even a quick walk for a refreshing break between study sessions. The view makes long study days feel a little lighter.

GAIL’s Bakery - College Green & Whiteladies Road

College Green Hours: Saturday and Sunday: 7am - 6pm/Monday to Friday: 7am - 6:30pm

Whiteladies Road Hours: Sunday: 7am - 6:30pm/Monday to Saturday: 7am to 7pm

This well-known café brand has branches across the UK, so it’ll likely feel familiar. However, the College Green location stands out for its large windows and open views, especially if you manage to grab a window seat! It’s a great spot to unwind while studying or take your mind off things during stressful moments.

Alongside the view, the café offers high-quality pastries and drinks in a comfortable, structured setting that’s ideal for longer study sessions. Plus, with plenty of good food options nearby, it’s a convenient choice for those long revision days.

Whiteladies branch is a bit more spacious and quieter (especially during off peak hours). It’s a great alternative if the city centre feels too busy, giving you a slightly quieter setting while still keeping that cosy café feel.

Hem Coffee (Previously called Gather)- Park Street

Hours: Sunday: 10am - 4pm/Monday to Saturday: 9am - 4pm

A hidden gem with a calm environment and excellent coffee, making it ideal for focused work. The atmosphere is welcoming without being distracting, and it’s laptop-friendly which is perfect for getting through revision notes or assignments.

The coffee is a standout with both hot and cold options among the best, making it a great choice for those who rely on a strong cup to stay focused. The staff are also friendly and approachable, happy to recommend drinks based on your preferences.

Large windows of the shop bring in plenty of natural light, creating a bright and refreshing space to study. It’s also located close to Brandon Hill, making it easy to take a break and enjoy views across the city.

Mrs Potts Chocolate House - Park Street

Hours: 10am - 8am everyday

If you need a morale boost during assessment week, this is the place. Known for its indulgent hot chocolates and desserts, it offers a warm, cosy atmosphere that makes studying feel less stressful. It’s not the quietest, but perfect for lighter study sessions or breaks.

The chocolate is a clear highlight, especially the dark option! And the desserts are among the best in Bristol. On sunny days, the café feels even more special with the large windows opened to let in natural light and a gentle breeze. This created a relaxed and uplifting environment while studying for exams.
